Interestingly, I placed this figure on our floor and my baby tortoise wandered straight over for a very good look at it. Initially she cuddled up to it, but eventually she decided to bite it in the nose, then wandered off. I was intrigued that a plastic model had invoked this delightful reaction in her! The quality and dynamism in Papo’s models is unrivaled, I suspect because they are devoted to representing their subjects as accurately as scientific knowledge will allow, and this is a beautiful representation of an ankylosaurid! Fab skin textures and lovely, subtle paint-detail as well as a well-captured, aggressive fighting pose bring this animal to life. A very worthy addition to my expanding collection!

I haven’t ordered this model but I have seen images of this in peoples collections. Its a great model of an Ankylosaurus, but there is one thing wrong about this model, its not an Ankylosaurus. This is actually a Euoplocephalus, a very close relative of Ankylosaurus that existed 70 million years ago. The model itself looks accurate and very well done (one of the best Euoplocephalus models I’ve seen). I would just rename the model to Euoplocephalus, but other then that, its an outstanding and beautiful model of an amazing herbivore.
