This model of Deinotherium is a large high quality toy, it is painted a brownie ginger colour which suits this animal. Everything Dinosaur is Excellent!!

First off a great big thank you to ‘Everything Dinosaur’. Since discovering them a couple of months ago I have been regularly purchasing prehistoric models for my collection. Their prices are unbeatable and the service second to none. As for my new Deinotherium he arrived the following day even though I ordered just before 5pm and only paid for first class post.

I am truly impressed with this model. Photographs on the internet simply don’t do him justice. The sculpt, detailing and paint are probably the best so far from the collecta models on offer and as a result the Deinotherium is now the beginning of my new prehistoric mammals collection and in fact I am about to order the Collecta Megacerops after writing this review. That is how impressed I am with this model. He will stand up to the test as a toy but there are two set backs to this. The first is that I have read reviews that the paint is somewhat delicate in areas so may be prone to rub off after time if it is to be used as a play toy. More importantly the downward turned tusks are very sharp for a childs toy, which leads me to believe this is the beginning of a new range devoted more to being a collectors item rather than a childs toy. The tusks can be easily remedied by simply snipping off the tips with scissors before giving it to a child.

This is one of the best Prehistoric mammal models I’ve ever seen! Its amazingly detailed and coloured, and its made in a great pose with its mouth agape. I think its safe to assume this is a male if one dares to look underneath! Again, this is a brilliant model, and one of the best made for 2013!
