This is an incredible sculpt and, despite appearing the plainest of The Once and Future King variants, I find it to be the most aesthetically pleasing and striking of the three. The paint scheme allows for full appreciation of the detail of the actual sculpt and feels the most natural colouration of this predator. I was honestly surprised by how taken I was with Obsidian and believe others will be too. The subtle reddish tone of the throat, a small detail, only serves to further enhance this piece.
The base is a nice addition, raising the low hunting pose to allow a better view of the King’s face, but it is not essential as these pieces have no issues with balance. That being said, every hunter deserves its own pride rock.
