If you are looking for a treat to add to your collection and you love ceratopsians, this is unmissable. PNSO have a way with ceratopsians models, both in the range available and their quality! Beautifully sculpted, the adult has real heft in the hand. The detail is excellent without being obtrusive or unrealistic. The raised hind leg gives a good feel of movement without being forced, as does the tilt of the head to the right. The scales on the head and frill vary in size from large to tiny, which gives a feel of a real live animal rather than a mass-produced chunk of plastic. The display colours on the frill are well done and striking, even if the pattern is relatively simple. The body colours work well for a large animal and although sober have good variety from deepest brown through to pinkish beige. Even on the neck and chest, usually unseen, there is a pleasing gradient of colour. Paint application is very good. The details of the mouth are carefully done, including the interior. Even though I feared on seeing initial publicity images that the articulated jaw made an ugly line across the face, in practice that line is well concealed and doesn’t draw the eye. The tiny baby is suitably charming. The package includes a large number of A3 and A4 posters, as is the norm for the Museum line. While I couldn’t possibly display them, they are wonderful to leaf through and enjoy. I love my ceratopsians and the posters include striking images of many of Torosaurus’ relatives. As always, the translations in the booklet and labels for the posters are superb – only a few tiny missteps betray that they are in fact translations. As expected from PNSO, the paper is best quality. The box is handsome, again something one expects of PNSO – their design aesthetics are in all aspects of their production superb. All in all, this would make a stunning present – whether for someone else or yourself!
