Wow, what an absolutely gorgeous model! A very detailed sculpt with beautiful, sparkling iridescent plumage and an excellent paint job. I agree with the other reviewer who also appreciated the PSNO packaging and the wee leaflet included inside. Just a truly fantastic dinosaur model–thank you, Everything Dinosaur!

PNSO are going through a golden period at the moment, with many new models coming out. Their new version of Microraptor is very eye-catching. The general pose is similar to their older, small model but the new one is much more statuesque – 20 cm from claw-tip to tail-tip as opposed to 10 cm, with a correspondingly higher level of detail. The most outstanding feature is the amazing iridescence that PNSO has managed to apply over the feathers. It glitters and gleams through green to blue/turquoise with purple, especially under artificial lights. It’s quite hypnotic! The feathers are all individually treated, with a lot of size variation over the animal. You really get the feeling of overlapping layers, especially on the wings. The pose is quite dynamic, suggesting that the MIcroraptor is landing after being airborne. The model comes in two pieces but it isn’t difficult to fit them together – softening the plug end in hot water for 20 seconds make it much easier. As always with PNSO, the packaging is elegant and also protects the animal well in transit. As usual, there is a nicely illustrated sheet (English as well as Chinese), with palaeontological information and also a short but rather moving imaginative piece of writing, aimed at children, about the animal’s hopes and dreams. I’m really pleased with my purchase, and also with the exceptional level of service that Everything Dinosaur always provide to their customers.
