The Eofauna Scientific Research American Mastodon (Mammut americanum) model is an absolute triumph in paleontological accuracy and artistic execution. From the moment you lay eyes on this 1:35 scale replica, its museum-quality presence is undeniable. This isn’t just a toy; it’s a meticulously crafted piece designed for serious collectors and enthusiasts who demand anatomical precision and aesthetic beauty.

Doug –
The quality of the American Mastodon model is, in my opinion, high quality. It’s a nice, accurate sculpt with good attention to detail. My only criticism for the sculpt is that hair could have been better represented since I believe the Mastodon had a thin coat. This could also just be a case of me being overly nitpicky. The brown grey colour of the Mastodon is fine, if it did have the aforementioned hair. This means that the Columbian Mammoth model should have been more grey like a modern day elephant. (Had to throw that in there.)
I love the fact that molars are represented in the Mastodon’s mouth. I am even more impressed that the two small remnants of jaw tusks are present. Very nice touch! The colour chosen for the eye helps it to pop but keeps it realistic. The model has good weight to it and like the Mammoth, the product stamp on the underbelly is nicely blended.
I highly recommend this product. It’s great for any collector, school science teacher, diorama artist, or anyone with a love for Proboscideans and other Cenozoic animals.
The accompanying information card is a nice touch, as is the paper provided by Everything Dinosaur which adds to that information.
