A Cyberzoic 1/12th Smilodon populator model in the tan colouration with 21 points of articulation. Supplied with 2 heads – mouth closed and roaring, each with interchangeable ears. Also, 2 sets of paws (clawed and retracted claws), along with 2 neck fur options, (long or short). Features package art by Raph Lomotan.

My girlfriend loves the figure! She’s a cat person so it was perfect for her, it looks great and is very poseable, we had a great time taking it and some previous figures we’ve bought from the same line out for pictures.

Honestly, as I kid I dreamed of an accurate, articulated Smilodon figure, and can’t quite believe that it’s now real and something I get to treasure for all my days. I am over the moon and so excited to see what other prehistoric megafauna join this incredible line of toys. I am also eager to order another Smilodon populator to keep mine company: I’ve been keeping an eye out for the dark colour version popping up second hand, unless there is another run planned in the future?
The tan colour figure, who I’ve named Diego, is beautifully painted and finished. It has a lovely weight and presence and is very fun and easy to pose and balance. The expressions on both heads are fantastic, the eyes are painted so sharply and are full of life. I especially like the slight sheen inside the mouth of the fully open jaw, it totally heightens the realism. The interchangeable ears and moving jaw allows for a great variety of expressions, which is just fantastic. Truly, I am blown away by all the considered and well designed points of articulation that bring this figure to life.
All of the moving and interchangeable parts work well, although I’ve had some issues with it’s right hand forelimb, which has a loose ball joint at the shoulder; I’ve been working on fixing this with some layers of water based varnish in the socket. Otherwise, a flawless action figure which I adore, thank you again!

Breathtaking Smilodon figure! It’s even better than the photos with a lot of articulations and amazing paintwork. It was my first BotM figure and definitely not the last.
